OMSI Science Center & Omnimax Theater
Neighborhood: Southeast
One of the nation's top ten science museums, the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry is a world-class tourist attraction and educational resource that puts the "WOW!" in science for the kid in each of us.
With a five-story domed screen covering 6532 square feet of projection surface, and 30-degree, stadium seating, the OMNIMAX® Dome Theater is a cinematic experience unlike any other. The theater's IMAX® projection system uses the largest film frame in the motion picture industry. Each frame is ten times the size of standard 35mm film. The large image puts you in the center of the action, while a custom-designed 15,000 watt digital surround sound system produces audio to match the intensity of the visual images.
