HiiH Gallery Neighborhood: Alberta Street
Handmade paper lamps and light sculptures for home, business, and special events. Custom work, installation, and shipping available.

Lam Quang has been hand-crafting lamps and light sculptures for nearly a decade. An exploration of the art of paper-making in its primitive form, led to Lam to his original use of paper fibers to create sculptural lamp forms. During this evolution, his paper making skills have reached a level of refinement that allow creative freedom. He opened HiiH Gallery in 1997, on Alberta Street, in Portland, Oregon and it has continued to grow since then.

Kestrel Gates joined Lam in June of 2004 applying her background in the performing arts to the design and construction of HiiH's lamp forms. Together, Lam and Kestrel work as a creative team, from concept and design, through the creation of each work. They do custom work and in house sales at HiiH Gallery.

1) Review by Mae R. (01-25-2007)
Though you can see their lamps in establishments all around town, there is something other worldly about walking into their show room on Alberta. Its like stepping into an artists vivid imagination... and you can leave with part of it!
